About

We are committed to developing and growing personally through the practice and study of Yoga, as well as other positive practices.

The benefits of Yoga are so noticeable and life changing, that we’ve taken it into our daily lives. This enthusiasm and ongoing experience is something we want to share and make available to anyone with an interest in finding out about yoga.

We really believe everyone benefits from yoga practice – it’s just a case of finding a way that suits you. We want to help with that in any way that we can, so if we’re not running a class that suits you, we’ll be happy to point you in the direction of someone who is.

We have experienced Yoga to be more than just a physical practice or workout. It is an invitation to practice awareness of ‘What Is’, so that we develop more trust in an inner knowing of what is right for us at any given moment.

Apart from running workshops on Yoga and Ayurveda, and inviting some wonderful teachers to Aberdeen, we also offer yoga retreats.

Teachers

Rebecca Murray is co-owner and co-director of Love Yoga. As a senior yoga teacher and yoga therapist, yoga is her full time job and she has tens of thousands of hours of teaching experience and training, not to mention an ever-deepening personal practice. Over these many years, she has experienced the incredible transformative power of yoga in her own and her students’ lives as it builds inner strength, balance, peace, and radiance. She has also experienced really practical and tangible progress along the path of yoga (which really isn’t about postures or even breathing exercises but about transforming our minds). Rebecca teaches general and private yoga classes, therapy sessions, retreats and workshops with humour, honesty, lightness and ease. As a Yoga Therapist she works with students 1:1 to design bespoke yoga practices (and give nutritional guidance) as a complimentary healing therapy – she has been highly trained to tailor yoga to help people overcome all levels of issue – whether physical injuries, medical diagnosises or conditions, or emotional and psychological issues. Specifically tailored yoga is extremely effective and Rebecca has seen excellent results in her students. No matter what’s going on with an individual, there is a yoga practice to support their optimal wellbeing! Rebecca is also a Culinary Nutritionist, offering nutrition workshops and personal nutrition sessions.

Charlie Grange discovered yoga in 2013, and has since developed a deep love of the practice. Committed explorations of the Ashtanga series with Sarah Hatcher have led to further studies of Vinyasa Krama and Hatha based sequencing. Travelling the world in pursuit of her passion, Charlie has practiced with many esteemed teachers including Kino McGregor, David Garrigues and Bharath Shetty. She has also worked extensively with Matthew Sweeney to become one of the few teachers worldwide qualified to teach Moon Sequence. Her wealth of experience and dedication is balanced by an unique sense of humour and easy going attitude.
Oliver Richard
Having graduated with a first class degree in Neuroscience with Psychology Oliver began practising Ashtanga yoga in 2014, Mysore style. Still carrying the rigour and dedication of Ashtanga yoga to this day, but now following a less dogmatic approach, he blends it with alternative forms including classical Hatha sequencing learned during multiple trips to India. With a teaching style centering on conscious breathing and its physical and emotional effects, he enjoys exploring the many intersections between Western Science and Eastern philosophy.
Allan Mollins has a passion for Sound or Gong Baths and he offers these at Love Yoga, currently the 1st Sunday evening of the month. He also is available for Sound Baths at other venues, if anyone’s interested
Julia Milne attended her first class at Love Yoga in 2017 a few months before turning 40 and has been a regular ever since. Julia practices each morning with Charlie and trained with Bharath Shetty at IndeaYoga. Julia’s aim is to make yoga accessible to all and applies a trauma informed and nurturing approach to her classes.
Jennie Wren Yoga Aberdeen
Jennie Wren
Jennie Wren is an avid explorer of both the outer natural world and the inner world of the mind and consciousness. Her devotion to studying yoga came after experiencing the powerful healing effect her physical practice had on her mental and spiritual health. Jennie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience of yoga, both on and off the mat, so that others may discover all that it has to offer.

Lizzie & Zahra delight in building connection and community through dance and free movement. They create safe, warm, open spaces for people to move freely and have fun away from pressure and stresses.
Martin Julich passed away suddenly on March 11 2023 and is sadly and sorely missed. He had been practicing Yoga for 30 years, an awfi long time and never stopped learning! He started with Iyengar Yoga in the 80’s, later added in Erich Schiffman’s approach of Moving into Stillness, Godfrey Devereux became his Teacher Trainer during a Yoga TT in Den Haag, Holland. He also practiced and taught Shiatsu, 5Rhythms Dance and Open Floor work and Chinese Herbal Medicine….all of which informed the way he taught and held classes. ‘Walking the line between discipline and fun’, is where he wanted Yoga to explore our human nature. We do our best to honour him and his spirit at the studio going forward.
